Thank you for your article on John. I ...Hi Aaron,

Thank you for your article on John. I held very tightly to dispensationalism for many years also believing there were two gospels. I no longer hold to two gospels or much of the dispensational eschatology. I started to study these topics in depth after realizing that Zionism isn't Biblical. One topic led to another and I believe the Lord showed me through His Word that Daniel's 70th week has been fulfilled and that 70AD is crucial to understanding that the Law has been fulfilled and is no longer part of God's plan for the rest of the ages.

The 12 were with Christ first and were given unfolding knowledge in parables and commission. They were to go to the lost sheep; then they were to go to the nations. Peter preaches Pentecost; then he preaches to gentiles. God was showing him that the nations would be part of God's salvation plan.

Ultimately, Peter preached faith in Christ by God's grace into the Kingdom of God. Yes, most of his converts had been of the circumcision.

Then Saul was raised and given many new revelations and mysteries by the risen Lord! Paul preached that Christ was the Son of God and also that Christ was the Messiah. Paul preached the kingdom of God all through his ministry even two years after the close of Acts in his own hired house.

Paul preached faith in Christ by God's grace into the kingdom of God. Paul went to Jews first wherever he was and then he'd go to the gentiles. He preached to Jewish leadership as well.

Yes, Paul is the apostle to the gentiles and he is our pattern because God gave him the last word for mankind today; not only regarding Christ's accomplishments on the cross but His plan for the ages.

The good news was unfolding truth and we now hold the completed Word. God used His chosen vessels to reach particular groups of people during different circumstances and particular periods of time.
We're left with Paul's completed message. Jesus died on the cross for the sins of the world and was resurrected for our life. Those who understand this become a child of God, a spiritual temple, the body of Christ. They enter the kingdom of God. It's all by faith through Grace.

Paul said that Jew and gentile have become one. We Pauline folks especially need to believe him.

Understanding Revelation from a historicist or even a preterist perspective puts the whole of Scripture in context. John was speaking to the churches (Jews and gentiles) of his day in the book of Revelation.

Dispensationalism began in the 1800s under Darby and Scofield. I still consider myself Pauline because I understand his special apostleship but I no longer hold to some of the doctrinal positions. Again, it's critical to understand that Daniel is fulfilled and that 70AD (Prophesied in Daniel and Matthew) is critical in understanding that the Law is no longer an issue no will be in the future.

Just saw your posts and thought I'd write since this seems to be a conversation going on elsewhere in our circles.

Pray you have a wonderful family vacation!

Grace and peace,

Lorrie
Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16147199214613239722noreply@blogger.com
